the new blank book

I have made an effort to transfer my daily typings from the blog to daily writings in my paper journal. And it has been working out quite well...

Writing in a bound book, seems to call for actual diary-type entries. oh my gosh -- it's a little bit like a "coming home" feeling.

In my last paper journal, I may have started out writing things and putting in little doodles and drawings and sticking extra stuff in. But the last many months, that journal was just lists. "what happened on mon - fri" lists and then "what I accomplished on the weekend" lists and also "what I am reading" lists.

Journal entries of paragraphs of writing are few and far between. It's just the lists, and amazon or Vegan Essentials invoices taped in.

I hadn't realized how much I missed just writing! Just Writing! with a different pen every day. It's amazing.

*Amazing* is a pretty strong word, but it fits perfectly! I am announcing my goal to write -- seriously write -- in my paper journal every day. Lists are allowed, as long as a written entry accompanies said list. Drawing and doodles are encouraged. (I feel them brewing. It's just a matter of time, I think.)

Just felt like posting, but don't really have anything to say!

A Supercell Thunderstorm Cloud Over Montana
  Moonrise Through Mauna Keas Shadow
Um, wow! for both of these photos. The Astronomy Picture of the Day is such a cool website!

Lily Pond Eight Point Round Ripple Crochet Infant Afghan
Just look at the picture; that blanket is lovely! The blues and the greens, and what an interesting shape. :)

  Creative Every Day 2011
huh. Don't think I need a extra web site to keep track of, but the idea here is one I keep coming back to.

My excessive email inboxes finally got to me, and I've been whittling out some of my newsletters and such. I started the weekend with approximately 250 emails, and now I'm down to... (counting) 200. eeh, I thought I made more of a dent than that!

Oh well.

My to-do list is extensive and I am completely overwhelmed with all I must do this weekend! My defense strategy is to ignore it all!!

*laughs*

Decided to re-arrange my copic markers. I'm not sure how many markers I have now. 80 or so, maybe? But only 72 fit into the canvas wallet that I really like. So, I "obtained" a second 72-Wallet. Working in the Copic Warehouse, it's one of those day job PERKS, ya know? ;)

Wallet 1 has blues, greens and purples.
Wallet 2 has browns, reds, yellows and oranges.

two wallets with copic markers!

oh boy! I only have 4 blue-violets? 4 yellows and 3 yellow-reds. And I have this insatiable need to own all the greens. *rolls eyes*

I just recently remembered how relaxing it is to colour something random with my copics. I know I should play with my markers more often...

I'm off-line for the next ten days or so, travelling to see my family over the holiday. You know: every year I tell myself that I will get things done in a timely manner so I don't have this last minute panic. But I always have this last minute panic.

oh well.

Randomness ensues:

Learn Something Every Day a UK site that I learned about through my day job at the Copic Warehouse. Pretty interesting!

I went to renew my subscription to the digital version of The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction at FictionWise... and I couldn't because the "new" owner, B&N, sucks. *sighs* I really really miss the old Fictionwise, which was owned by real people instead of a corp. eh. I love my decrepit old Palm handheld, but Fictionwise was the only thing keeping me attached. Hello Kindle?

Astronomy Picture of the Day Awesomeness: Aurora Over Alaska Wow.

ah the Travel Journal. Yes, I need my bound book that I'm now writing in. But also some extra loose leaf papers, just in case... coloured papers and plain white. Pens? check! but, oh! I really need a couple of markers in my pen case as well. But they won't fit??? hm... oh, I guess I don't need four different black pens, do I? Okay, I think it all fits now...

pen case for travelling

yeah. Lots of Copic in there: Markers, Glitter pens, Muli-Liner SPs. I can't help it! ;) Also in the mix, a mechanical pencil and some Pilot pens.

Will attempt to get some December mailings out, while I'm traveling. Did you read today's Sally Forth comic in the paper? heh: mailed before the 25th, and signed? Yay, it counts!

Oh my gosh, I am so happy to be home!

And I have so much to do, and so much to chat about, this is just going to be a random post about many things!

First of all, I want to be excited about a web site I found yesterday...

LOVE: Living Opposed to Violence and Exploitation a vegan group, not very active, but I paged through some of the blog posts, and nodded-nodded at many of them. The thing that Totally excites me... a Vegan Pen Pals Project!!! Ha! Me and my vegan pen pals will be taking over the world soon!! YAY VEGAN!

oops: I said I'd be doing a mailing from Denver International Airport because I spent a bit of time there... but it never happened! Oh well, you'll just get more mail in January, to make up for it. (Not on my mailing list? send me an email with your snail mail and a bit about you!)

My Family Time in Iowa... I really missed my Grandma (who died this summer), and I kinda missed her house (which was torn down xmas week). Christmas just isn't the same without any grandparents, ya know? But I had a decent time, and got in some good sledding. And I'll probably do it all again next year. (Hopefully WITH the SO, who couldn't make it this year.)

Got a couple books for xmas, and decided to make a neat and tidy list of all of my unread books. I'm up to 41 and just realized I missed the last half of the Thoreau journals (seven books), and I need to put in the 20$ per magazine Stampington rip-offs as well. (heh.)

Oh! Also in my Internet wanderings: The Last Unicorn Art Contest oh my! I think I like the Unicorn handbag the best. And also the 3rd place Thematic "Amalthea" drawing at the bottom of the page. and the scratch board unicorn one with the spider web. and. um. well. Okay. I love all the unicorns! :)

Looking forward to the new year. Yeah, I'm kind of a sucker for new things, and I'm all over the Resolutions or Intentions thing. I've just realized that 2010 was kind of a non... year. A couple things happened. But I don't remember doing anything that I'm really proud of. You know? hmm. More on this in a couple days, in my annual January First blog post...

And in the meantime, I've not unpacked. And I've not unloaded the photos off my camera. And Significant Other hasn't gotten any of his xmas presents. And I have a couple of xmas present snafus to deal with. And, who knows what all is going to happen this weekend!

So: Be Happy and Be Safe, Beautiful Peoples!!
