History of Roswell
The little town of Roswell, New Mexico was put on the map in July 1947 when a ufo crashed nearby. Yep, the headline in the local newspaper read, "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer on Ranch in Roswell Region." The next day the government moved in and began the big cover-up. They cleaned up the crash sites, including some alien bodies at another crash site not far away. The government replaced the ufo wreckage with a weather balloon... and told the media that the weather balloon had been mistaken for a ufo.

And that's just the beginning. You can read the rest of the story here:
The Roswell Incident.

Fun in Roswell
Despite it's history, Roswell is still just a small town in the middle of the desert. There are just a few shops in town that take advantage of the tourism. We visited the International UFO Museum and Research Center, which was incredible. They had tons of information and exhibits there and it was fascinating to wander through the museum.

I especially liked all the paintings the museum displayed. Lots of space art and aliens. I also enjoyed the section on crop circles, they had some aerial photos of some very elaborate crop circles that were just beautiful.
