31 January 2004 ... Happy Things

Sun rise occurs at 7:26am today, and I was out for my walk to the mailbox at 7:15. The sun rise was lovely, a layering of clouds to bring out the colours...

Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.

And in the mail is the latest All Animals, the HSUS publication for members. The cover of the magazine says, "Special Offer Inside!" and I open it up... and behold, they are giving away a Mutts tee-shirt!

'Course, at 50$, that's a pretty expensive tee-shirt. heh. But I must have it. And the HSUS is one of my favorite charities, so I usually give them way more than 50$ during the year, anyway.

I happened to glance at one of the state quarters the other day. Alabama, and I'm happily surprised at their design... Helen Keller, a pic of her sitting in a chair, reading a braille book, banner across the bottom says, "Spirit of Courage". And in teeny, teeny print, right above her name, is some grade 2 braille. Which says "HELEN KELLER". No blind person would be able to read it, but it's cool, nevertheless.

Two mourning doves hang out on the wall of our balcony. I welcome them. I assume they are a bonded pair... even tho when they are pecking at their breakfast one of them gets greedy and trys to chase off the other one. ha.

And I'm trying to figure out if you can tell the males from the females. Usually they fly off when I try to get close to the glass door to look at them. I'm going to try out my binoculars, next time they are out there!

And, since it's the end of the month, I must report on my Projects.

Let's see... I've made three loaves of bread this month: fun! I love that bread making machine. One bread was a mix, two were my very own creation!

And the web site has been built. The design is set and there are a few basic pages. Hope to flesh stuff out this weekend, and after that it'll just be small weekly maintenance. excellent.

I am trying to decide what to do for Feb. I am rather itching to get out my Beginning Acrylics painting set. But that actually sounds like a fairly major project... not sure if I'm ready for that!

I'd also like to do some drawings. I feel like I've been languishing in that area of my life.

hm...
