8 November 2003 ... Animal Clicky-Clicky

All links open in a new window.

The Meatrix at Ban Cruel Farms, a Farm Sanctuary Campaign.

Bahaha, brilliant! Check it out, it's a Flash movie and the initial download is short even on my dialup (and be sure you've got your volume turned on). Matrix spoof, Moopheus tells Leo about the truth of the Meatrix.

Please read the The Universal Declaration of Animal Rights over at Uncaged UK...

  • Inasmuch as there is ample evidence that many animal species are capable of feeling, we condemn totally the infliction of suffering upon our fellow creatures and the curtailment of their behavioural and other needs save where this is necessary for their own individual benefit.

  • We do not accept that a difference in species alone (any more than a difference in race) can justify wanton exploitation or oppression in the name of science or sport, or for use as food, for commercial profit or for other human ends.

  • We believe in the evolutionary and moral kinship of all animals and declare our belief that all sentient creatures have rights to life, liberty and natural enjoyment.

  • We therefore call for the protection of these rights.

You can sign the Declaration, too.

And I bet you didn't even know how incredibly cool we are here in the desert. "Cool" as in Awesome for the Animals, of course! :)

From The Animal News Center: "Ed Boks is the executive director of Maricopa County Animal Care a Control (AC&C), the largest pet adoption agency in the United States and home of the first municipal no-kill shelter"... Read the Interview with Ed Boks and Ed Sayres

Mr. Boks is now up in New York, turning that city into no-kill, as well. Pet Pals, in our local newspaper.

And our local Humane Society is fantabulous as well... Check out those Adoption Statistics! Need more one hundred percents!!

Not to mention that Phoenix has it's very own Animal Ambulance!

If you're into some reading on the computer, here's a very important free book for ya...

Vegan: The New Ethics of Eating, by Erik Marcus.

The book is in PDF format and it's 216 pages. It's down to earth writing and a quick read... but it's a very important message. Don't worry about giving your email out to these guys (required in trade for the free download), I signed up a month ago and have yet to receive a thing in my mailbox.

And you are clicking that purple button every day over at the Animal Rescue Site, right?!

Guinea pigs, nobody in particular

The first half decent drawing of my one-a-day drawing project. The guinea pigs aren't anyone I know... I copied the little one out of a PeTA magazine and the demented guinea pig just kind of showed up. haha.
